Well, we made it. It is officially the New Year - at least here in Tennessee. My friends on the west coast still have a little longer to go.
For some reason I just had a flashback to when I was in school on the first day of class upon returning from Christmas break (of course, I am a teacher, so I have always been in school). We would all greet each other by saying something like, “I haven’t seen you since last year” - and then laugh at our ever-so-original joke.
So friends, it’s good to talk with you again. I’ve not written anything since last year. Oh, my wit is just OUT OF CONTROL tonight. It must be the sausage balls and banana punch.
Happy New Year’s. I wish you much joy and happiness.
P.S. Be sure to eat some hog jowl and black eyed peas for luck! My fellow Southerners should already know this.
P.S.S. I'm going to take a little break from blogging for the next few days to enjoy the remainder of my days off from work. But, I'll see ya back here next week. Until then, take care, ya'll.

Found you through Southern Mommas! Happy New Year!
So glad you found me, Mary. A very happy New Year to you, as well.
Tyla, you are funny. You guessed right so you don't have to feel bad.
Happy New Year
I love New Years as it give everyone that fresh start that is needed at times. Thanks for stopping by "In His Grip" :o)
Yes, fellow past southerner. Do like my bowl of Hoppin' John on New Years! Have a Happy New Year!
Sherry
Er, "hog jowl"?
I hope that's code for cake and ice cream.
LOL, Carrot! No cake and ice-cream here on New Year's Day. But a few slabs of hog jowl are a must.
P.S. Hog jowl is very similar to bacon...just a different part of the pig!
Sherry, I'll admit Hoppin' John is a new one to me. If you happen to stop back by again fill me in on it. :>)
